Job Title: SEND Mentor

Job Type: Part-time

Location: Gloucester

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and patient individual to support a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in a primary school setting. As a SEND Mentor, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to increase the pupil's participation in lessons and provide individual support outside of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the pupil to access teaching content and engage in afternoon lessons
* Manage challenging behaviour in a calm and patient manner
* Support the pupil's self-regulation outside of the classroom
* Ensure the pupil's safety and welfare is always maintained
* Provide regular feedback to the class teacher and/or SENDCo

Requirements

* High levels of resilience and patience
* Previous experience managing challenging behaviour
* Ability to build trusting relationships
