About the Role

This part-time position involves supporting a pupil in Key Stage 2 with an EHCP. The main goal is to increase participation in lessons and provide individual support outside the classroom when needed.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist the pupil in accessing teaching content and engaging in afternoon lessons
  • Manage challenging behaviour in a calm and patient manner
  • Support the pupil's self-regulation outside the classroom
  • Ensure the pupil's safety and welfare are always maintained
  • Provide feedback to the class teacher and/or SENDCo

Requirements

  • High levels of resilience and patience
  • Previous experience managing challenging behaviour
  • Ability to build trusting relationships

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in primary schools
  • Education qualification(s)
