About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health Improvement Specialist to join our team at Tameside Council. As a Health Improvement Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver health improvement programs and services to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce health inequalities.
  • Work with community groups, organizations, and individuals to develop and implement health improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct health checks, provide coaching and support to individuals, and facilitate workshops and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social services, and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive approach to health improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to promote health improvement initiatives and services.
Requirements
  • Experience in community health work, public health, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Ability to travel to various locations across the borough to deliver services and programs.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as required.
  • Highly organized, motivated, and resilient, with a strong commitment to health improvement.
