Job Opportunity: Consultant Neonatologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Neonatologist to join our team at the Neonatal Unit, Aberdeen Maternity Hospital, NHS Grampian.

The Neonatal Unit provides comprehensive care to newborns and children in the Grampian Region and the Orkney and Shetland Islands. As a Consultant Neonatologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to our patients, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert medical care to newborns and children in the Neonatal Unit
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Contribute to the development of our services, including ECHO, POCUS, Therapeutic Hypothermia, NO, and HFO ventilation
  • Participate in clinical governance, audit, and research activities
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes

Requirements:

  • Higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register
  • Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC
  • Experience in neonatal care and leadership
