Global Reinsurance Accounting Specialist

This role supports the Head of International RI Accounting in ensuring a consistent implementation of reinsurance operating model across international markets and in the day-to-day accounting activities relating to ceded reinsurance.
Key Responsibilities- Reinsurance Accounting: Manage and oversee the reinsurance accounting across International for Europe, including setting up treaties and facultative reinsurance contracts in the ceded reinsurance accounting system.
- Reporting and Statements: Prepare and analyze financial reports related to reinsurance activities, delivering management reporting to guide reinsurance strategy.
- System Implementation: Support the implementation of the Everest Insurance Ceded Reinsurance system for International.
- Control Framework: Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of a consistent control framework, compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley, covering both reinsurance placement and accounting.
- Closing Calendar: Support the design and implementation of a closing calendar and controls relating to the ceded reinsurance operations.
- Process Improvement: Support the Head of International RI Accounting to drive improvements to the ceded reinsurance accounting systems and processes.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies related to reinsurance accounting.
- Qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, or CIMA with proven post-qual experience).
- Relevant experience in the Accounting Department of a property and casualty insurance or reinsurance company.
- Understanding of functions pertaining to ceded reinsurance accounting.
- Knowledge/experience with Global XL Pro system or other RI system.
- Knowledge of SQL.
- Excellent PC skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills.
