Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Safety and Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at THG Recruitment. This role is essential for overseeing health and safety protocols and ensuring compliance across various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice to site management and personnel on health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ) for upcoming projects.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and audits to ensure health and safety and quality compliance on-site.
  • Develop, monitor, and review method statements, risk assessments, and work package plans.
  • Encourage the reporting of near misses and safety observations to foster a culture of safety.
  • Review compliance documentation from the company and subcontractors.
  • Facilitate and/or deliver essential training programs, including induction sessions and toolbox talks.
  • Contribute to the creation of comprehensive health and safety packs.
  • Assist in formulating the Health and Safety Construction Phase Plan.
  • Collaborate with waste contractors and stakeholders to meet BREEAM conditions.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to quality processes and comply with company QA standards.
  • Regularly update the project fire plan and traffic management plan.
  • Promote behavioral safety initiatives among staff and operatives.
  • Participate in client health and safety meetings as required.
  • Engage in weekly internal health and safety meetings with the contracts manager and managing director.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be articulate, self-motivated, and capable of working under pressure with minimal supervision. A NEBOSH Construction/NCRQ qualification and a minimum of TechIOSH membership, along with a valid CSCS card, are essential for this role. We are looking for someone who is committed to promoting a high standard of health and safety across all projects.
