The successful candidate will have a strong background in scientific or engineering-based subjects and/or relevant experience in the field of nuclear decommissioning.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement radiological sampling technical requirements, including DQO methodology and sampling plans.
- Conduct practical knowledge of the characterisation lifecycle, including sampling methods, preservation of radionuclides prior to analysis, storage, chain of custody, and data requirements for consignment of samples offsite.
- Analyse radiochemical analysis results, including high-level assessment of likely errors.
- Obtain and maintain SC clearance.
- Knowledge of characterisation for non-radiological contaminants, including asbestos, to include interpretation of surveying and sampling data.
- Ability to multitask and re-prioritise to meet changing needs and project deadlines in a team environment.
- Interpret and critically evaluate Health Physics data as it relates to waste characterisation projects and surveying/sampling campaigns.
