Senior Support Worker - Specializing in Challenging Behaviors

  • Salary: £28,392 annually (£14.56 hourly) plus additional benefits
  • Working Hours: Up to 37.5 hours weekly, on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, covering Monday to Sunday
  • Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are in search of a Senior Support Worker who embodies calmness, patience, and resilience. You will need to drive and maintain a consistent approach in supporting the individual. Your role will involve assisting the person we support in engaging with their favorite activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Being a proactive team member who leads by example, demonstrating professionalism, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while providing exceptional support.
  • Overseeing daily operations and aiding the deputy manager in evaluating staff performance, development, and assessments.
  • Holding a QCF in Health & Social Care level 2 Diploma (or equivalent) and a willingness to pursue a level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, along with a solid understanding of regulatory standards for supported/residential living.
  • Collaborating closely with a Positive Behaviour Specialist to ensure adherence to the PBS plan.
  • Getting to know the individual you will support and assisting them in living the life they aspire to.
  • Taking personal accountability for the quality of care and support provided to the individual.
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the individual in your care.
  • Aiding the individual in planning and achieving both short-term and long-term goals.
  • Encouraging participation in activities, including learning and social engagements, while being creative and exploring new opportunities.
  • Assisting the individual in managing personal affairs, including preparing for and attending appointments.
  • Ensuring that the individual and their family are treated with respect, dignity, and equality.
  • Adhering to SeeAbility's core values in all aspects of your work.

We are looking for someone who can commit to 37.5 hours per week and is open to working on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

About the Individual You Will Support

The individual is a young man with autism and moderate learning difficulties. He enjoys outings in his vehicle along pre-planned routes, has a passion for music, and enjoys listening to BBC radio. His favorite food is pasta, and he thrives on routine and predictability. His support team must be dedicated, resilient, and innovative to help him reach his full potential.
