Job Overview

The Phlebotomy Department operates within the Cancer and Clinical Services Division, overseen by a clinical lead and a management structure that includes a Service Manager and General Manager. The department's performance and governance are managed by a triumvirate consisting of a Divisional Medical Director, Director of Operations, and Director of Nursing.

This role entails collecting blood samples from patients in various settings, including hospital wards, outpatient clinics, and patients' homes. The department's operational hours are from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with staff working on diverse shift patterns.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a full-time senior phlebotomist for a 37.5 hours per week contract.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong communication skills to thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment, contributing significantly to healthcare delivery.

Our department is busy and patient-focused, staffed by a friendly and supportive team. We operate across multiple sites, including hospitals and community clinics, as well as conducting home visits for patients.

We require a responsible and adaptable individual to assist in the collection of blood samples for laboratory testing. Experience in adult, pediatric, and domiciliary phlebotomy is essential.

Participation in the existing Saturday and Bank Holiday rota is required. Flexibility regarding hours and locations is crucial to meet the evolving needs of the service.

This role is cross-site, with the primary base at one of the Trust's facilities.

A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential due to the need for travel between clinics.
