About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Head of Service for the Midlands region. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the strategic vision and development of our foster care services in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans to drive growth and improvement in our foster care services.
  • Manage a team of experienced professionals, including qualified social workers, to ensure the highest level of service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant government regulations and standards, including child-related legislation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including local authorities, foster carers, and other partners.
  • Contribute to the development of business plans, budgets, and financial forecasts to ensure the financial sustainability of our services.
  • Lead on operational business planning, including resource management, performance management, and contingency planning.
  • Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to attract and retain foster carers.
  • Ensure that our services are managed in accordance with relevant government agendas and frameworks, including QA and compliance approaches.
  • Lead on talent management, including recruitment, development, and retention of staff.
  • Develop and maintain a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in the foster care sector.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong understanding of child-related legislation and regulations.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective business plans and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, including local authorities, foster carers, and other partners.
