Paediatric Emergency Medicine Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Emergency Medicine Consultant to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to children and young people who attend our Children's Emergency Department.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong background in Paediatric Emergency Medicine, with experience in working in a fast-paced emergency department environment. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of acute care to ill and injured children, as well as delivering consultant ward rounds and educational supervision to trainees.
You will also be expected to contribute to the development of our department, including participating in quality improvement initiatives and engaging in wider teaching opportunities for trainees. Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality care to children and young people in the Children's Emergency Department
- Oversee the delivery of acute care to ill and injured children
- Deliver consultant ward rounds and educational supervision to trainees
- Contribute to the development of our department, including quality improvement initiatives and teaching opportunities
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Paediatric EM Sub-speciality Training or equivalent experience
- CCST or CCT in Paediatrics /Emergency Medicine or eligible for above within 6 months of appointment
