Primary Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Ensuring the secure, efficient, and effective operation of all outpatient pharmacy services, adhering to both national and local regulations.

- Developing a high-quality outpatient service that meets the needs of patients in a timely manner.

- Fulfilling all statutory obligations as mandated by the GPhC, DH, and other regulatory bodies.

- Managing and administering pharmacy operations efficiently.

- Taking accountability for the procurement and management of all medications within the outpatient pharmacies.

- Supporting the advancement of the wholly owned subsidiary model and providing insights on potential benefits, risks, and actionable steps as approved by the Board.

- Offering leadership and serving as a role model for pharmacy staff.

- Reporting on progress against key performance indicators to the Board of Directors.

- Leading the formulation and execution of a five-year strategic plan for pharmacy services, along with an annual operational plan.

- Participating in relevant Boards and committees related to pharmacy services.

Job Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Registration with the GPhC, with no adverse Fitness to Practice record.
  • A Master's degree or equivalent in pharmacy.
  • A management qualification.

Required Experience

  • Extensive experience in managing performance, reporting, and analytical services within a complex organization.
  • Proven experience in project management within a challenging environment.
  • Experience in performance management.
  • Experience in the recruitment, selection, and training of personnel.
  • Familiarity with writing and implementing standard operating procedures and other relevant policies.
  • Experience in audit and service enhancement.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in negotiation, conflict resolution, and complaint management.
