Pharmacy Operations Director

Job Summary:
The Pharmacy General Manager role at King’s College Hospital is a strategic leadership position that plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care through the effective management of pharmacy services. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operational management of the pharmacy department, ensuring that all services are delivered in accordance with care group, site, and trust objectives and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the delivery of high-quality patient care through the effective management of pharmacy services.
- Responsible for the operational management of the pharmacy department, including the management of pharmacy admin and clerical staff and the Homecare pharmacy administrative team.
- Oversee and manage pharmacy contracts and service level agreements, including advising management and supervising the implementation of contracts for optimal efficiency and benefits.
- Support the implementation and management of systems and processes to ensure all pharmacy services are delivered in accordance with care group, site, and trust objectives and policies.
- Ensure that national standards and governance arrangements are in place for all medicines supplied via the Homecare pharmacy route.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in pharmacy, healthcare, or management.
- First Degree and/or equivalent senior management experience.
- Evidence of maintaining continuous professional development.
- Prince 2 or other Project management experience.
- Significant management experience in a senior role within the acute sector, particularly operational management.
- Experience of managing strategic and operational performance in achieving key targets.
- Proven record of financial management at senior level, delivering on complex and large budgets, including reducing costs, monitoring, and determining corrective action.
