Job Overview

In the role of Lead Financial Reporting Analyst, you will be integral to the Financial Reporting division, directly reporting to the Accounting Manager. This position is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial documentation and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile the monthly gross margin results for the Crude Oil, Refined Products, Petrochemicals, and Biofuels sectors, adhering to IFRS standards.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Control and Product Control teams to finalize monthly account submissions, addressing discrepancies between Finance P&L and Risk P&L to ensure precise accounting outcomes.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly broker exchange reconciliations for the Petroineos Trading Limited entity, coordinating with Derivative operations to resolve any ledger discrepancies.
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations for the Petroineos Trading Limited entity, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding items with relevant teams.
  • Assist in all facets of the company's external year-end and interim audits.
  • Lead the preparation of the annual statutory report and statutory audit for Petroineos Trading Limited.
  • Engage in IT initiatives aimed at automating month-end reporting processes.
  • Undertake additional analyses, ad hoc projects, and responsibilities as required.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or ACA.
  • Robust trading accounting expertise.
  • Experience within the Oil and Gas sector.

Additional Qualifications

  • Proven experience in financial reporting and analysis in the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Proficient in SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and macros.
  • Familiarity with ETRM systems is highly desirable, particularly Openlink Endur PlanLogic EOS and Symphony.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities, with a capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to work.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during critical reporting periods.

The selected candidate must possess the necessary work authorization in the UK prior to commencing employment.
