About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Ranger to join our team at the National Trust. As a key member of our Countryside team, you will be responsible for managing a team of Rangers and contributing to the delivery of our conservation and access outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver work programs to meet conservation and access outcomes
  • Lead and line-manage teams of staff and/or volunteers
  • Apply practical skills across a broad range of habitats and estate management
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures
  • Engage with visitors to promote the value of our work

Requirements

  • Experience in land, access, and conservation management
  • Strong team leadership and management skills
  • Practical skills in chainsaw use, tractor driving, and towing trailers
  • Ability to work safely and lead on compliance
  • Commitment to nature and the outdoors
