Opportunity Overview:

The UK DevOps team operates within the UK Operations and IT sector, driving technological advancements and transformations across the organization. This team comprises a Mendix Low-code and Salesforce development and operations unit, alongside the establishment of a MuleSoft API team and SmartComm digital content team. The DevOps team has fully adopted modern methodologies, including Agile, DevOps practices, API-led development, cloud-first strategies, and CI/CD processes.

As a member of the DevOps Salesforce team, you will be responsible for managing operational tasks and minor software development requests for Zurich's Salesforce platform throughout the UK. Reporting directly to the Salesforce Platform Lead, you will play a pivotal role in our operations.

Zurich Insurance UK is enhancing its DevOps team to address the growing need for digital transformation, API-driven application development, Agile methodologies, and innovative practices. The DevOps team is instrumental in transforming the business by enhancing efficiency and centering the customer in all our digital transformation initiatives.

An exciting position has emerged within the DevOps Salesforce team for the role of Salesforce Operations Manager. You will collaborate in an Agile environment with the Salesforce Release Manager, Salesforce Solution Leads, Solution Architects, MuleSoft team, SmartComm team, and the broader Salesforce team to ensure effective management and operation of the Salesforce ecosystem, which includes five Salesforce Orgs, while continuously developing your skill set.

Key Responsibilities:

If you are eager to cultivate and advance a growing team that provides operational support to the Zurich Salesforce enterprise platform, contribute valuable insights and technical expertise to the applications, systems, and processes that are driving Zurich's online digital services, and enhance Salesforce DevOps and Agile practices to deliver business-focused consultation and support, you could be a vital part of our award-winning and rapidly expanding DevOps team.

You will be a seasoned Salesforce professional with a strong background in stakeholder management, adept at meeting the operational needs of various business lines, and skilled in translating defects, incidents, and challenges into actionable requirements and solutions. Your role will involve delivering exceptional customer service to over 2000 users, supporting multiple business lines across a diverse range of demands. Collaborating with the Release Manager, Solution Delivery Managers, and Architects, you will be part of an internal team responsible for delivering value to the organization, ensuring stable operations, and developing future-proof processes.

This position is not just any Salesforce Operations Manager role; Zurich has strategically positioned Salesforce as a core technology, encompassing five Salesforce Orgs that include Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Industries (Vlocity), and Nonprofit. You will gain extensive Salesforce experience across various business lines, portfolios, and projects.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Salesforce certification ADM201.
  • Experience in managing teams.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Experience in handling competing demands from various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, and/or Industries (Vlocity).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging directly with customers to understand their change and configuration needs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking.
  • Ability to collaborate with the business to clarify ambiguous requirements.
  • Commitment to working in a diverse team with varied backgrounds and skills.
  • Willingness to take ownership of projects from inception to completion.
  • Passion for fostering a supportive environment for team growth and delivering exceptional operational and development support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Application Builder.
  • Experience with JIRA.
