Leasehold Enfranchisement Lawyer

Legado Recruitment is seeking an experienced Conveyancer to join our client's Leasehold Enfranchisement Team in Eastbourne. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team, handling a varied caseload and assisting the Partner in transactions involving freehold sales and purchases.

The Role

  • Acting for landlords and tenants in transactions involving freehold sales and purchases, including s5 notices;
  • Negotiating lease extensions and statutory lease extensions;
  • Advising on lease variations, including clause variations and Licence for Alterations;
  • Representing landlords in acceptance of assignments, including drafting LPE1 replies, deeds of covenants, and Licences to Assign;
  • Handling enfranchisement claims and making applications to the First-tier Tribunal (FTT);
  • Providing advice on Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT), including higher rates, reliefs, and exemptions;
  • Developing relationships with surveyors, agents, and other property professionals.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A client-focused lawyer with experience in Leasehold Enfranchisement and Conveyancing;
  • Qualification as a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or CILEX is welcome, but not essential depending on experience;
  • Able to work independently without reliance on case management;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A team player with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
