About the Role:
Darktrace, a global leader in cyber security AI, is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Counsel to join our team in London or Cambridge. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in supporting the company's growth and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and facilitating the completion of commercial contracts with our growing customer base, including software license agreements, resale and distribution agreements, and data processing agreements.
- Negotiate and draft commercial agreements to support strategic growth, advising on legal risk and strategy.
- Work with teams across the company, including Finance, Human Resources, and Facilities, to ensure ongoing support of company operations.
- Conduct legal research as needed and drive progress on legal team projects, actively working on improving processes to positively impact the legal team and the company.
- Support the legal team on various projects, involving intellectual property, privacy, and related fields.
Requirements:
- Post-qualified legal experience, ideally within a contracts or commercial in-house environment.
- Relevant legal experience, with demonstrated interest in commercial transactions, privacy, data security, and technology transactions, intellectual property, and similar fields.
- Experience drafting documents, supporting and advising teams in commercial transactions.
- Strong work ethic, highly motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced, high-growth private company environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, including both oral and written.
- Ability to produce an excellent work product on a consistent basis, while under pressure from stakeholders.
- Comfortable interacting with all levels of the company's personnel, including management, building relationships across teams and across offices.
