Job Title: Advanced Pharmacist - CAR-T Therapy Specialist

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and dynamic pharmacist to join our team as a CAR-T Therapy Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our expanding CAR-T service and contribute to the development of ambulatory care in haemato-oncology and medical oncology.

About the Role

As a CAR-T Therapy Specialist, you will be part of our specialist senior haemato-oncology pharmacy team and will work closely with the Lead Pharmacist CAR-T Therapy and the Lead Clinical Cancer Services Pharmacist. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing specialist medicines management services and pharmaceutical advice to the Southampton Haematology and Oncology Centre and affiliated clinical trial facilities.
  • Supporting the development of the CAR-T service and providing expert advice on all aspects of CAR-T, ambulatory care, medicines, and cell therapies.
  • Working closely with the aseptic technical staff to undertake clinical checks on chemotherapy regimens and prescriptions.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the chemotherapy electronic prescribing system, including writing chemotherapy protocols and validating regimens on the system.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced Stage 1 competencies in the RPS Advanced Pharmacy Framework in relation to medical or surgical patients.
  • Sound knowledge of clinical pharmacy services acquired while working within a suitable specialty.
  • Development and implementation of guidelines and procedures.
  • Training in medicines information.
  • Project Management training or qualification.
