Position Overview

We are inviting applications for two Senior Neurology Consultant roles within our esteemed healthcare organization. These positions are based at our main hospital, with the possibility of collaborative work across various sites.

Our organization acknowledges the complexities faced by neurology patients, and we are committed to enhancing our neurology services. We seek dedicated consultants who are passionate about advancing patient care and developing specialized services.

These roles are vital for the progression of Neurology services within our trust.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will join a dynamic and motivated Neurology team. You will collaborate closely with management to propel our services forward and foster integration across the region, with a focus on specialization.

The Neurology department is equipped with a budget for four consultants and is supported by six specialist nurses across various conditions, including Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson's Disease. We maintain strong partnerships with rehabilitation and neurophysiology teams.

Our staff provides a diverse range of outpatient clinics, responding to the increasing demand for neurology services, which currently accommodates approximately 3,600 new patients annually. All consultants will contribute to the general outpatient service, which includes a rapid-access pathway for patients with suspected seizures, alongside subspecialty clinics.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidates will hold the following qualifications:

  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Full GMC Registration
  • On the Specialist Register for Neurology (or eligible for entry within six months of application)
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to UK CCST in Neurology

Desirable Qualifications

  • Research experience or higher degree (MD/PhD)
