Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) performance regime company-wide. As the Head of SHEQ Leadership, you will play a pivotal role in delivering and maintaining a robust SHEQ performance regime, ensuring continuous improvement to our in-house standards, systems, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and vision in SHEQ for the company's global operations, ensuring compliance in all areas.
  • SHEQ Change Programme: Deliver and maintain a SHEQ change programme to develop a positive culture across the organisation.
  • Director and Manager Engagement: Engage and support directors and managers to create and maintain a vibrant health and safety culture.
  • Initiatives and Campaigns: Implement initiatives, campaigns, and new processes to drive continual improvement of safety, health, environment, and quality.
  • Metrics and KPIs: Develop and use metrics to measure and drive improvement in the business, setting KPIs for the SHEQ team.
  • Strategies and Policies: Develop, review, and update all SHEQ strategies, policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Certification and Compliance: Lead the certification process for ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 standards.
  • Incident Investigations: Manage and lead all incident investigations and ensure effective inspection and internal audit plans.
  • SHEQ Team Leadership: Provide direct leadership to the company's SHEQ team.
  • Budgeting and Reporting: Develop, monitor and report on annual budgets for SHEQ.
  • Operational Performance: Prepare regular reports on operational SHEQ performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with external bodies and stakeholders, including regulatory and professional organisations.
Requirements
  • NEBOSH Qualification: NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) Level 6 in Occupational Safety and Health.
  • ISO Internal Auditor: ISO Internal Auditor (desirable).
  • Operational Experience: 10 years' experience in an operational SHEQ role, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior SHEQ role.
  • ISO and OSHA Standards: Thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable ISO and/or OSHA standards.
  • HSE Policy and Guidelines: Full understanding of legal HSE policy and guidelines.
  • Leadership and Communication: Ability to translate strategic goals into objectives and pragmatic plans for the business. Natural leadership style with the ability to motivate, inspire and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Travel and Interpersonal Skills: Willingness to travel internationally (as required). Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Analytic and Organisational Skills: Proven analytic, planning, and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
