The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of plant operations, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to maximize uptime.
Key Responsibilities- Plant Availability and Reliability: Ensure that plant operations are running safely and effectively, with a focus on minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
- Future Planning and Maintenance: Develop and implement plans to ensure the future reliability of plant operations, including identifying and addressing potential maintenance issues.
- Investigation and Resolution of Plant Issues: Investigate and resolve recurring plant issues to maximize uptime and minimize downtime.
- Engineering Non-Standard Analysis: Analyze and resolve engineering-based non-standard issues to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Safe Working Practices: Ensure safe working practices through the development and implementation of Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS).
- Plant and Process Improvements: Identify and implement opportunities for plant and process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Engineering Spend Control: Control and understand engineering spend to ensure effective use of resources.
- Contractor Engagement and Control: Engage and control contractors to ensure effective completion of tasks and projects.
- Liaison with Maintenance and Operations: Liaise closely with maintenance and operations teams to maximize opportunities during plant downtime.
- Cost Savings and Energy Efficiency: Identify opportunities for cost savings and energy efficiency through plant improvements and energy-saving initiatives.
- Technical Coaching and Support: Provide technical coaching and support to maintenance staff as required.
- Unplanned Production Outages: Identify and plan work to avoid unplanned production outages.
- Technical Reporting: Produce technical reports on dangerous occurrences and plant incidents.
- Test Piece Furnaces and Laboratory Testing Equipment: Have knowledge of test piece furnaces and laboratory testing equipment.
- Cranes and Lifting Equipment: Have knowledge of cranes and lifting equipment.
- Risk Assessments and Method Statements: Be capable of developing risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
- Equipment Redesign and Modernization: Redesign equipment and implement modern engineering systems and solutions.
- Design Software: Be competent in AutoCAD and/or Inventor design software.
- Pension matched up to 8%.
- Medical and dental cover (benefit in kind).
- 26 days annual leave.
- Quarterly bonus (eligible but not guaranteed).
