The Risk and Intelligence Service (RIS) plays a crucial role in HMRC's compliance and enforcement efforts. The Intelligence team within RIS focuses on enhancing the understanding of organized crime and serious fraud that affects HMRC. We produce high-quality intelligence products to inform decision-making and compliance strategies, maximizing our effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

As an auditor, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that HMRC utilizes police systems securely and proportionately, adhering to relevant legislation and established standards.

  • Lead initiatives for quality assurance and continuous improvement, enhancing user skills and overall customer experience.
  • Monitor user activities to maintain the security and integrity of systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national standards regarding the use of police systems and data storage.
  • Identify opportunities for improved processes and training needs.
  • Communicate audit results to users and their supervisors, facilitating necessary enhancements.

Training and Development:

We prioritize potential in our recruitment process and offer a comprehensive 12-month training program designed to equip you with the necessary skills and experience for success. Attendance at the College of Policing may be required for specific training not available in-house.

Security Clearance:

National Security Vetting (NSV) at Security Check and Non-Police Persons Vetting level 3 (NPPV3) is mandatory for this position. Candidates must have been UK residents for five years to qualify for Security Clearance.

If selected, your job offer will depend on your ability to obtain both NSV at Security Check clearance level and NPPV3. Failure to meet these security vetting requirements will result in the withdrawal of the job offer.

Benefits:

In addition to a competitive salary of £28,341, HMRC contributes £7,652 towards your membership in the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. We offer flexible and hybrid working arrangements to help you balance your professional and personal life.

Our generous leave policy starts at 25 days, increasing with years of service up to a maximum of 30 days.
