The Risk and Intelligence Service (RIS) is integral to HMRC's compliance and enforcement operations. The Intelligence team within RIS is dedicated to enhancing the understanding of organized crime and serious fraud affecting HMRC. This role offers the chance to join the Police Systems Hub, working closely with HMRC colleagues and law enforcement agencies.
Role Description
The auditor's primary function is to ensure that HMRC utilizes police systems securely and proportionately, adhering to relevant legislation, agreed terms, and standards.

Core Duties:
- Lead initiatives for quality assurance and continuous improvement to enhance user skills and customer experience.
- Monitor user activities to safeguard the security and integrity of systems.
- Ensure compliance with local and national standards and legislative requirements regarding the use of police systems and data storage.
- Identify opportunities for improved processes and necessary training.
- Communicate audit results to users and their supervisors, facilitating necessary enhancements.
Training Opportunities
We seek candidates based on their potential and provide a comprehensive 12-month training program to equip you with the skills and experience needed for success. Completion of the College of Policing's training is required for this position, which may involve overnight stays for up to one week for certain training sessions.
Security Clearance
National Security Vetting (NSV) at Security Check and Non-Police Persons Vetting level 3 (NPPV3) is mandatory for this role. To qualify for National Security Vetting at Security Clearance Level, candidates must have been UK residents for five years.
Successful candidates will receive a conditional job offer based on their ability to obtain both NSV at Security Check clearance level and NPPV3. Failure to meet these security vetting requirements will result in the withdrawal of the job offer.

In addition to a competitive salary of £28,341, HMRC contributes £7,652 towards your membership in the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
