Job Summary

The Associate Merchandise Planner is a key role within the Lids organization, responsible for driving sales, gross margin, and inventory plans for both pre-season and in-season time periods. This position requires a strong understanding of retail math and financial reporting, as well as the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute annual, seasonal, monthly, and weekly merchandise plans
  • Construct merchandise purchase schedules for initial and in-season products
  • Manage price updates, markdowns, and promotion setups
  • Analyze margins and IMUs to drive pricing opportunities and risk
  • Analyze and provide reporting on store capacity to identify areas of opportunity or risk resulting in allocation adjustments
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of retail math and financial reporting
  • Proven ability to perform independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to operate a computer and maneuver relative software programs
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years merchandising, planning, buying, or equivalent experience
  • Relationship management skills to build constructive and effective relationships with business partners
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities and deliver a set of options with detailed impacts
