London, Greater London, United Kingdom Kenny Recruit Full time

Kenny Recruit is collaborating with a prominent online fashion retailer to identify a Retail Merchandise Planner for a permanent position. This client has demonstrated remarkable growth over the past decade, now offering a diverse range of products and operating across multiple regions including the UK, USA, and Europe.

As a Retail Merchandise Planner, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the inventory is stocked with the appropriate products and quantities throughout the collection. We seek an individual with a keen analytical mindset, capable of identifying successful and underperforming items and making informed decisions to adjust stock levels accordingly. A passion for numbers is essential, and while a love for fashion is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite. You will analyze new products to determine their performance and identify areas for improvement. In this role, you will oversee a Junior Merchandise Planner and will be responsible for analyzing sales and inventory data. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance & Data, you will also need to operate independently and autonomously. Collaboration with various teams, particularly Product, Finance, and Marketing, will be a key aspect of your role.

Compensation: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Location: London - 3 days in the office

Working hours: 9am - 5pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing data-driven insights to analyze performance and forecast sales
  • Managing stock levels and product ranges to maintain optimal inventory with high SKU intensity
  • Overseeing WSSI and OTB management
  • Reporting findings and effectively communicating them across the organization
  • Transforming qualitative and quantitative customer feedback into actionable strategies
  • Conducting market positioning analysis, including the development of pricing and product strategies
  • Leading a small, dynamic merchandising team

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional analytical skills
  • High proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with a willingness to learn new systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in the fashion industry is beneficial but not essential
  • Commercial acumen - a natural instinct for identifying what drives success
  • Effective project management abilities - capable of planning, tracking progress, and ensuring smooth operations
  • A proactive approach - a proven history of achieving results efficiently
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on optimization
  • The essential startup toolkit: initiative, energy, adaptability in an unstructured environment, and a readiness to take on diverse roles
  • A genuine interest in fashion, style, and menswear
