Associate Merchandise Planner

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Planner to join our team at Foot Locker. As an Associate Planner, you will play a critical role in developing store assortments and recommending SKU count by brand/franchise using productivity metrics and uniting the buyer's merchandise vision with the divisional financial strategies supplied by the Financial Planner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain store assortments 6-12 months out, analyzing trends and opportunities to drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with the buying team to create a shopping list for vendors/franchises, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Support the buying team on product line level planning and forecasting, ensuring space assortment plans are executed effectively.
  • Review and adapt product distribution plans prior to intake, factoring in trend shifts and new opportunities.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills and experience with planning tools (Marketmax, Arthur, SAP, etc.) to drive business insights and inform decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders, fostering a culture of collaboration and open communication.

Requirements:

  • Commercial awareness and business acumen, with a strong understanding of the retail industry.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to stakeholders.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with planning tools (Marketmax, Arthur, SAP, etc.).
  • Strong business/commercial awareness, with a high concern for effectiveness and entrepreneurial spirit.
