Job Summary:

Apollo – The International Art Magazine is seeking a highly skilled Media Sales and Partnerships Manager to join our commercial team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for selling advertising into our magazine and digital platforms, managing our art fair and media partnerships, and representing Apollo at industry events.

About the Role:

The Media Sales and Partnerships Manager will be responsible for:

  • Advertising Sales:
    • Sell print and digital advertising to existing and new clients, working closely with our Advertising Director to drive revenue across all channels
    • Research and identify opportunities for securing new business for Apollo
    • Prepare effective proposals and presentations and actively follow up leads
    • Create and manage a new business pipeline
    • Provide excellent client management and after-sales service
    • Regularly visit both existing and potential gallery clients
    • Build mutually rewarding relationships with your client base, keeping abreast of the latest news and relevant market information
    • Stay abreast of competitor titles and the latest in advertising trends
  • Partnerships:
    • Manage Apollo fair/media partnerships from initial contact through to the implementation of agreements
    • Provide post-event reporting as required
    • Develop a strategy to improve partnership performance
  • Representing Apollo:
    • Occasionally represent Apollo on the booths we take at major art fairs

Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience of selling advertising to an art world client base or similar for print and online
  • Strong and detailed knowledge of the art world
  • Good understanding of the cultural media landscape
  • A persuasive communicator with excellent relationship-building skills; comfortable with cold calling and/or visiting new prospects in person
  • A tenacious approach to new business and a commitment to providing excellent client management
  • Strong attention to detail; understands the importance of delivering outstanding work within agreed deadlines and against targets
  • Self-motivated and organized; comfortable dealing with a varied workload and delivering projects as part of a cross-functional team
  • An ability to speak clearly about the advantages Apollo can offer clients
  • Team player – willing to support the team where necessary as well as happy to work independently
