Job Title: Security Assistant

Assystem is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Security Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Security Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective coordination of personnel security within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process vetting applications for staff and contractors, providing support and advice on all types of vetting.
  • Monitor existing clearances and proactively ensure renewals are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Advise and update on changes in policies and procedures related to vetting.
  • Liaise with external agencies, including verification of internal and external clearances.
  • Ensure personnel security risks are effectively managed by conducting rigorous checks and applying ongoing personnel security controls throughout the organization.
  • Act as a point of contact for staff and contractors for both specific vetting and general security enquiries, ensuring they are dealt with effectively and efficiently, taking into account data protection and other security considerations.
  • Support on security incident reporting, follow-up actions, and sharing learning from experiences for any security near-misses, and recording details of these.
  • Provide project-specific security support for key projects.
  • Be a point of contact for site-specific security responsibilities, i.e., issuing of site passes.
  • Provide general security assistance to the Security Department as and when required, including the delivery of security communications and awareness campaigns.
Requirements:
  • Microsoft Office suite of programmes, specifically an experienced user of Word and Excel.
  • Previous experience in a similar security role would be beneficial.
  • Attended DISA Training.
