Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with autism and special educational needs.

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing one-on-one support to children with autism, focusing on those with non-verbal or limited verbal abilities. You will implement communication strategies such as PECS and Makaton to facilitate meaningful interactions and collaborate with our skilled team to create personalized learning plans that cater to each child's unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to children with autism, focusing on those with non-verbal or limited verbal abilities.

Requirements:
  • Experience working with individuals with autism (ASD), whether through paid positions or personal involvement.
  • A background in utilizing communication tools such as PECS and Makaton, particularly with non-verbal or limited verbal children.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of children with SEN.
