About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant - SEN to join our team at GSL Education. As a Special Education Needs Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with special educational needs in their learning and development, working closely with teachers and Special Education Coordinators to follow individual education plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to create a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere, encouraging and motivating students to reach their full potential.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers, working with parents and carers to ensure consistent support for students.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are desirable but not essential.
  • Must have DBS (updated service) to safeguard the learners' issues.
