Opportunity Overview
We are thrilled to present a unique opportunity for a Community Engagement and Patient Liaison Specialist to join our team and contribute significantly to the advancement of Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) initiatives within the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

As we build on our recent achievements, our goal is to integrate PPI as a fundamental aspect of our operations. We aim to reach a broader audience in innovative ways, enhancing our impact and ensuring that our activities are shaped by the insights of patients and the public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Management: Overseeing daily functions, upholding PPI standards, managing the Heart Voices patient network, and delivering essential administrative support.
  • PPI Initiative Implementation: Facilitating PPI activities across diverse sectors (Research, Policy and Public Affairs, Information and Support), guiding team members through PPI protocols, and organizing events.
  • Success Reporting: Assessing, documenting, and communicating our PPI efforts, managing workloads effectively, and advocating for PPI and peer support throughout the BHF.

At BHF, we recognize the value of collaboration, and our team members on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in the office, typically at least one day each week. The frequency of office use may vary based on your role and the activities required, necessitating a flexible approach to maximize your contributions to our mission.

Candidate Profile

You should have a proven track record in cultivating sustainable relationships with patients, the public, and colleagues, along with experience in managing projects or events and maintaining administrative workflows. Strong organizational abilities, the capacity to meet deadlines, and adaptability to shifting priorities are essential.

A commitment to meaningful patient and public involvement, the ability to support colleagues, and the confidence to express concerns are vital. You should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly, while also prioritizing equality, diversity, and personal growth.
