Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Psychologist - Clinical Support Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our small team of Clinical Psychologists delivering high-quality and individualized psychological assessment and intervention to children and adults.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to team diagnostic assessment of autism and ADHD in children and young people, including completing school observations, cognitive assessments, and contributing to team discussions.
  • Support delivery of services provided by Northampton Psychology Practice and The Autism Practice.
  • Work under the clinical supervision of an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist to develop knowledge and skills in psychological assessment, intervention, and service development.
  • Develop and implement post-assessment interventions and support.

Requirements:

  • High level of support to develop knowledge and skills, including regular individual clinical supervision, team supervision, and discussion.
  • Opportunity to gain experience of working within the field of clinical psychology, particularly for those with an interest in working with the neurodivergent community.
  • Experience working in a private practice setting and developing knowledge and skills in psychological assessment, intervention, and service development.

Working Arrangements:

The post is based in our clinic in Northampton town centre, with access to excellent resources and a space designed to provide a safe therapeutic space for our clients and employees.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly within core working hours to meet the needs of the service.

The post is subject to a DBS check, the cost of which will be covered by Northampton Psychology Practice.
