Overview of the Role:

My client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychologist/Therapeutic Practitioner to join their expanding team in the South Midlands area. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with young people and their families, focusing on improving well-being and facilitating their reintegration into a supportive family environment. The position is flexible, combining home-based work with in-person service delivery throughout the week.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical and Client Care:

  • Conduct specialist psychological assessments and interventions for young people and their families.
  • Provide culturally sensitive therapy, including individual and group sessions.
  • Develop and implement risk management plans for young people, acting as a keyworker for care plan reviews and TAC meetings.

Team Collaboration and Service Contribution:

  • Support the effective functioning of the Clinical Service within a psychologically informed framework.
  • Ensure services are accessible and responsive to the needs of diverse local communities.
  • Collaborate with referrers, GPs, and other professionals to develop and review care plans.

Policy and Service Development:

  • Implement and propose improvements to policies and procedures within your area of work.
  • Engage young people in the planning and delivery of services to ensure they meet their needs.
  • Participate in service development projects and contribute to organizational improvements.

Management and Supervision:

  • Provide clinical supervision to practitioners within your area of expertise, once qualified.
  • Supervise and allocate tasks to assistant psychologists as required.
  • Receive regular supervision and support from the Clinical Lead.

Teaching, Training, and Professional Development:

  • Deliver specialist training in psychological care to other professionals within the service.
  • Present research and service evaluation findings to contribute to ongoing service improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in clinical practice and relevant legislation.

Record-Keeping and Information Governance:

  • Maintain high standards of clinical record-keeping and report writing in line with organizational policies.
  • Ensure all information generated from your work is securely recorded and managed.

Research and Development:

  • Conduct regular service evaluations, audits, or research relevant to the needs of the service.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Psychology (Clinical, Forensic, Applied, etc.) or a related therapeutic discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years working within therapeutic services.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Health and Social Care, specifically with children and young people.
  • Experience with learning disabilities and mental health is highly desirable.

Additional Requirements:

  • A valid driving license is essential.
  • Flexibility to work across a large geographic area and occasionally on weekends.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work required.
  • Supervision: Line management by the Clinical Lead.
  • Work Location: Hybrid (home and office-based).
