Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our dynamic Structures Team at our Yeovil site, within our Helicopter Division.

As a Structural Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of products, including conventional helicopters, tilt rotors, and unmanned air systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop structural design solutions in collaboration with other engineering departments and key stakeholders.
  • Utilize your design skills to create innovative and effective design solutions.
  • Lead teams of Structural engineers to achieve delivery of fit for purpose design solutions.
  • Work closely with the design, analysis, certification, and qualification teams to ensure seamless delivery of design tasks.

Requirements:

  • Experience using CATIA V5 or equivalent 3D design package.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, machining, and composite design.
  • Geometric tolerance control and design for manufacture.
  • Aerospace fasteners and types of structural joints.
  • Typical structural analysis failure criteria used to determine the static strength of structural components.
  • Awareness of fatigue and damage tolerance in rotorcraft.
  • Knowledge of airworthiness regulations (MAA, EASA, or FAA).
  • ENOVIA VPM or equivalent part management system.
