About the Role:


We are seeking a talented Structural Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at Leonardo.


As a Structural Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing structural design solutions for our wide product range, encompassing conventional helicopters, tilt rotors, and unmanned air systems.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate, create, and deliver varied and challenging design tasks concurrently with other engineering departments and stakeholders.
  • Utilize your design skills to innovate, mentor, and lead teams of Structural engineers to achieve delivery of fit-for-purpose design solutions.
  • Apply your knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, machining, and composite design to create innovative solutions.
  • Manage geometric tolerance control and design for manufacture to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with aerospace fasteners, structural joints, and common failure criteria used in structural analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with airworthiness regulations, such as MAA, EASA, or FAA.
  • Effectively plan, capture, and execute tasks to achieve challenging timescales and budgets.

What You Will Need:



  • Experience using CATIA V5 or equivalent 3D design packages.
  • Solid understanding of structural analysis failure criteria and fatigue in rotorcraft.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to innovate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
