Job Description:

Job Summary

The Neurodiversity Support Manager will lead the development and implementation of a whole-system approach to supporting prisoners with neurodivergence. This will involve close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that all staff and prisoners share a common vision and ethos of neurodiversity.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain a neurodiversity needs strategy for the prison, incorporating key stakeholders and ensuring that actions across education, skills, and work support a whole-prison improvement approach.
  2. Manage the collection and analysis of data on neurodiversity, continually evaluating current practice and tailoring provision to meet the needs of a wide range of prisoners.
  3. Track the progress of neurodivergent prisoners in education, learning, and work, analyzing data and identifying participation and achievement gaps.
  4. Case manage prisoners requiring additional support, upskilling the workforce to support a whole-prison approach to neurodivergence.
Requirements
  • Experience of working within the Special Educational Needs/Additional Learning Needs and Disabilities field.
  • Detailed knowledge of OFSTED/Estyn's EIF and further education and skills criteria.
  • PGCE, Cert Ed, or Level 5 in Education and Training.
  • Level 4 Certificate in Supporting the Learning of Learners with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)/Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
Working Arrangements

The Ministry of Justice offers hybrid working arrangements, blending work from home, different MoJ sites, and the office. Some roles may not be suitable for hybrid working.

The successful candidate will be appointed to a MoJ office location, which may include their nearest Justice Collaboration Centre or Justice Satellite Office.

Standard full-time working hours are 37 hours per week, excluding breaks. HMPPS welcomes part-time, flexible, and job-sharing working patterns.
