The position of a Childcare Support Specialist demands a commitment to nurturing, passion, and compassion. You will serve as a positive role model in the lives of the youth, providing support, guidance, and inspiration. Establishing strong connections and fostering positive experiences for the young individuals is fundamental to this role.
We are seeking compassionate Support Specialists to join our team, individuals who possess a warm demeanor and are eager to make a significant difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the daily routines of the boys, including personal care, meals, and recreational activities
- Helping to develop life skills, encouraging social interactions, and supporting bedtime routines
- Accompanying youth to appointments and engaging in planned activities
- Completing necessary documentation and maintaining cleanliness of the living environment
- Building relationships with families and facilitating family engagement
In addition to daily responsibilities, this role includes serving as a Keyworker, allowing you to create meaningful moments and foster strong relationships with the youth.
Qualifications Required:
- Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to work varied shifts
- Understanding of the challenges faced by young individuals in care
- Relevant qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent (or a commitment to obtain)
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- Willingness to undergo a DBS check
- Experience in related fields such as Social Work or Youth Work is beneficial
