Position Overview

As a vital member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Finance Director will oversee the financial operations of the organization, delivering insightful financial analysis and strategic guidance. This role is crucial in ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the Finance department and manage the finance team.
  2. Oversee the development of annual budgets, long-term financial forecasts, and mid-year revisions, along with managing all tax-related matters.
  3. Supervise the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring effective monitoring of budget performance and providing detailed variance analyses.
  4. Manage cash flow and advise the Finance Committee on the allocation of funds between liquid and illiquid assets.
  5. Establish and maintain the organization’s financial policies and procedures, ensuring strong internal controls and compliance.
  6. Collaborate with Trustees, particularly the Chair of the Finance Committee, to provide financial insights and support.
  7. Offer strategic advice to the CEO and Trustees on financial planning, taxation, and governance.
  8. Oversee the relationship with external auditors and ensure the timely production of annual statutory accounts.
  9. Fulfill the role of Company Secretary, ensuring compliance with all statutory obligations.
  10. Prepare materials for quarterly Finance Committee meetings and ensure effective communication of financial matters.
  11. Manage relationships with Independent Financial Advisers and Investment Managers, monitoring their performance closely.
  12. Oversee payroll management, ensuring timely processing in collaboration with HR.
  13. Critically assess all significant revenue-generating initiatives and capital expenditures, supporting colleagues in presenting business cases and evaluating return on investment.
  14. Manage financial risk effectively, ensuring all financial matters are addressed with due diligence.

This role is essential for the financial health and strategic direction of the organization, providing a solid foundation for sustainable growth.
