Salary: £83 - £100 per day

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students facing complex learning challenges? GSL Education is currently seeking dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to provide essential support within an Alternative Provision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized assistance and interventions to students with SEMH requirements, both inside and outside the classroom environment.
- Offer 1:1 support to children and young individuals with social, emotional, and mental health challenges, along with related behavioral issues.
- Employ strategies to promote positive behavior management and effectively de-escalate challenging scenarios.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other educational leaders to adhere to Education Health Care Plan objectives, ensuring that targeted outcomes are achieved.
- Aid students with SEMH needs in engaging with the curriculum and completing academic assignments.
- Work in close partnership with classroom educators, SENCO, and other relevant personnel to coordinate support and interventions for students.
- Participate in relevant training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with SEMH needs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must possess the Right to Work in the UK.
- A minimum of 6 months experience working with students with SEMH needs in an educational or similar environment. Experience from university placements or volunteer work is acceptable.
- A solid understanding of SEMH-related challenges and effective strategies for intervention and support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff members and external agencies, including counselors and mental health professionals.
- An Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
