Job Title: Programme Data Controller

Join Smiths Group plc, a global leader in detection and screening solutions, as a Programme Data Controller. This exciting role will be based at our Centre of Excellence in Hemel Hempstead, where you will be responsible for managing the sales forecasting and programme accounting processes for the NW Europe region.

About the Role:

As a Programme Data Controller, you will oversee the maintenance of the rolling monthly Market Review forecast for Order Intake and Revenue, looking forward 18 months for the NW Europe market. You will stay up-to-date on developments with Programmes, Sales & Operations to understand the status of Orders & Revenue and ensure the rolling forecasts, annual Budget, programmes accounting, and invoicing are updated accordingly.

You will be responsible for flagging significant issues to NW Europe market management, explaining and justifying movements in Forecast and differences vs. actual numbers booked. You will also manage all IFRS15 issues related to Programmes, ensuring accounting and forecast accuracy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the sales forecasting and programme accounting processes for the NW Europe region
  • Overseeing the maintenance of the rolling monthly Market Review forecast for Order Intake and Revenue
  • Staying up-to-date on developments with Programmes, Sales & Operations to understand the status of Orders & Revenue
  • Flagging significant issues to NW Europe market management
  • Managing all IFRS15 issues related to Programmes
About You:

We are looking for a qualified accountant with good knowledge or experience of IFRS standards, especially IFRS15 accounting for programmes. You should have experience of commercial sales forecasting and analysis for decision-making, as well as commercially astute and used to working in an international, matrix environment.

You should be a professional, succinct, and confident communicator to senior leadership, with good MS office/Excel, SAP, and management information systems (Oracle EPBCS) skills. Detailed knowledge of SAP programme accounting, WBS structures, ZPLANS, and reporting is also essential.

Foreign language skills, especially Hebrew, are an advantage.
