Job Title: Programme Data Controller

Smiths Detection is a leading global company operating in over 50 countries, employing over 23,000 people. We are a world leader in the design and manufacturing of detection equipment for transportation, military, and other markets.

We are seeking a highly skilled Programme Data Controller to join our team in Hemel Hempstead. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing sales forecasting and programme accounting for the NW Europe region (UK, Ireland, and Israel).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts for the NW Europe market, including order intake and revenue projections.
  • Manage programme accounting, including deferred revenue, work-in-progress, and unbilled amounts.
  • Collaborate with the UK Financial Controller to ensure accurate accounting and forecasting in accordance with IFRS15.
  • Prepare and present monthly market review forecasts and data submissions to Divisional HQ.
  • Support the development of commercial variance explanations for internal reporting and external audit purposes.
  • Lead the preparation of financial models for bids and tenders, and review pricing quoted in tender documents for accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies, and recommend improvements where necessary.
About You:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Good knowledge or experience of IFRS standards, especially IFRS15 accounting for programmes.
  • Experience of commercial sales forecasting and analysis for decision-making.
  • Commercially astute and able to work in an international, matrix environment.
  • Professional, succinct, and confident communicator to senior leadership.
