About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Operator to join our team at Cummins Inc., specializing in CNC Machining for our Blockline Support in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines to produce high-quality cylinder blocks, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.
  • Contribute to a safe work environment by following all Health & Safety processes, including the use of personal protective equipment and reporting any hazards or incidents.
  • Work effectively within a team, communicating openly and supporting peers to achieve common production goals and improve processes.
  • Participate in identifying and implementing improvements in quality, safety, processes, material flow, and employee development.
  • Maintain equipment and work area, performing routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks, and carrying out planned operator care and maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Operate manual and automated equipment efficiently to meet production targets and maintain the required cycle times, demonstrating high competency in core work skills.
  • Adhere to all applicable standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) to minimize costs and manage quality exposures.
  • Engage in personal development, completing required training and activities to enhance skills and contribute to overall business objectives.

  • Certification or licensing related to compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations may be necessary, depending on the specific requirements of the role.
  • Previous experience operating CNC machines to produce high-quality parts is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with relevant processes and equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions independently, with strong numeracy and literacy skills to ensure accurate and effective work.
  • Proficiency with PCs or handheld terminals, combined with a solid understanding of quality standards and health and safety requirements.
