**Job Summary**
We are seeking a skilled Materials Operator to join our team at Cummins Inc. in Daventry, UK. As a Materials Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing processes.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Ensure safety by promptly reporting hazards and incidents, maintaining a safe working environment for everyone.
* Promote health standards by using personal protective equipment and adhering to HSE standards, protecting yourself and colleagues from potential harm.
* Enhance quality by following quality procedures and performing inspections, ensuring high-quality products are produced.
* Reduce costs by identifying and controlling non-conforming materials, minimizing waste and reducing production costs.
* Meet production goals by operating equipment efficiently and achieving production targets, contributing to the company's overall success.
* Maintain cleanliness by keeping your work area clean and performing routine maintenance, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operations.
* Collaborate effectively by communicating with your team and support staff, fostering a cooperative and productive work environment.
* Engage in continuous improvement by participating in training and actively participating in improvement initiatives, enhancing processes and personal development.
**Requirements**
* Accountability: Hold yourself and others accountable to meet commitments, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
* Health and Safety Fundamentals: Champion proactive health and safety behaviors, identify and report hazards, and participate in actions to improve workplace safety.
* Manufacturing Knowledge: Demonstrate a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and applications, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Attention to Detail: Follow procedures meticulously to ensure quality and accuracy, quickly identify and address quality issues, and minimize downtime.
**Education/Experience**
* Although not required, candidates with experience operating PIVs will contribute to a safe, more efficient, and productive workplace.
* Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously follow procedures and specifications to ensure quality and accuracy in handling and delivering material and components to the production lines.
* Time Keeping: Delivering material in a timely manner, minimizing downtime, and keeping the production line running smoothly.
* Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
* Teamwork and Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively within the Materials team and across departments, communicating clearly about processes, issues, and safety concerns.
* PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) Experience.
