About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Materials Operator to join our team in Daventry, UK, specializing in Manufacturing for our Materials department.
This is a fixed-term contract up to 24 months, with the potential for a permanent contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Safety: Promptly report hazards and incidents to maintain a safe working environment.
- Promote Health Standards: Use personal protective equipment and adhere to HSE standards to protect yourself and colleagues.
- Enhance Quality: Follow quality procedures and perform inspections to ensure high-quality products.
- Reduce Costs: Identify and control non-conforming materials to minimize waste and reduce production costs.
- Meet Production Goals: Operate equipment efficiently and achieve production targets to contribute to the company's success.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep your work area clean and perform routine maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate Effectively: Communicate with your team and support staff to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Engage in training and participate in improvement initiatives to enhance processes and personal development.
Requirements
- Accountability: Hold yourself and others accountable to meet commitments and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Health and Safety Fundamentals: Champion proactive health and safety behaviors, identify and report hazards, and participate in actions to improve workplace safety.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Demonstrate a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and applications, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Attention to Detail: Follow procedures meticulously to ensure quality and accuracy, quickly identify and address quality issues, and minimize downtime.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating PIVs will be beneficial in contributing to a safe, efficient, and productive workplace.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously follow procedures and specifications to ensure quality and accuracy in handling and delivering material and components to the production lines.
- Time Keeping: Deliver material in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and keeping the production line running smoothly.
- Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
- Teamwork and Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively within the Materials team and across departments.
- PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) Experience.
