Job Title: Associate Practitioner (Band 4) Histopathology

We are seeking an experienced Associate Practitioner (Band 4) to join our Histopathology Laboratory team at Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the Biomedical Scientists in the laboratory, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a range of clinical/technical/scientific activities under supervision, including section cutting, special stains, embedding, and non-gynae preparation.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in relation to activities carried out, and may input/interrogate test results of others.
  • Work in a laboratory environment that involves constant contact with human body fluids, tissues, and hazardous chemicals.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant Foundation degree or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of a range of routine and non-routine healthcare science duties.
  • Full UK right to work.
