About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Refuge Worker to join our team at Solace Women's Aid. As a key member of our team, you will provide vital support to women and children who have experienced domestic abuse, helping them to rebuild their lives and achieve independence.

About the Service

Solace Women's Aid provides emergency accommodation and support services to women and children fleeing domestic abuse and sexual violence. Our services are designed to meet the unique needs of each individual, providing a safe and supportive environment for them to heal and recover.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a deep understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on women and children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support to survivors. You will be able to work effectively with women to assess their needs, develop safety plans, and link them with other agencies. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships with service users, colleagues, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and support to women who have experienced domestic abuse in a refuge setting
  • Carry out risk and needs assessments, develop support plans, and carry out key work with women survivors
  • Work across two refuges as part of your role, providing a comprehensive service to women and children
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies, ensuring seamless referrals and support for service users
