Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic individual to take on a pivotal role in our business development efforts within the realm of Integrated Electronic Warfare Operational Support (EWOS) solutions at Leonardo. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in a variety of sales and business development initiatives.

Our comprehensive EWOS offerings encompass tools, modeling, training, testing, personnel, as well as data management and countermeasure development services. This holistic approach enables our partners and military end users to effectively deliver, maintain, and optimize their operational requirements throughout the lifecycle of EW operations.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of international business development within the EWOS, CEMA, and related defense and aerospace sectors. Experience in regions such as the Middle East, NATO, and Asia Pacific will be considered an asset.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with military platform operators, commercial partners, mission data integrators, training institutions, and end users in these critical sectors.
  • Demonstrating exceptional communication skills and credibility when interacting with customers to shape and influence their requirements.
  • Exhibiting leadership qualities while collaborating with internal stakeholders and supporting Integrated Campaign teams.
  • Presenting detailed opportunities during Business Winning Reviews to secure approvals for pursuits, bids, and resource allocations.
  • Crafting tailored win strategies, determining pricing for individual campaigns, and drafting proposals for clients.
  • Assisting in the preparation of business cases for private venture investments aimed at developing new capabilities.
  • Conducting thorough market and competitor analysis to inform decision-making.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring order intake aligns with forecast targets by managing a portfolio of key campaigns and opportunities.
  • Collaborating closely with Integrated Campaign Teams and other departments to lead or support bid activities.
  • Cultivating and maintaining relationships with customers, end users, and industrial partners.
  • Serving as a critical coordinator, fostering relationships with key internal stakeholders, including International Marketing and Capability functions.
  • Utilizing internal procedures to identify, track, and report opportunities to senior management.
  • Effectively managing the Leonardo Business Winning process to advance campaigns.
  • Contributing to communications events, including exhibitions, demonstrations, and conferences.
  • Demonstrating a proven track record in developing, managing, and leading relevant solution sales or strategic campaigns within the defense or comparable sectors.
  • Possessing a strong understanding of EWOS and CEMA-related capabilities and requirements.
  • Being an innovative thinker and disciplined self-starter, capable of anticipating and overcoming challenges in a complex international sales environment.
  • Displaying commercial and financial acumen, with experience in negotiating and closing intricate deals in the international marketplace.
  • Having knowledge of international trade compliance regulations and export control procedures.
  • Exhibiting excellent communication skills, with the ability to confidently brief senior stakeholders across industry, government, and military sectors.
  • Proficient in writing compelling marketing content and proposals.
  • Demonstrating strong leadership and motivational skills, capable of guiding a team to deliver quality results under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to customer facilities in designated overseas territories.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
