Senior Finance Manager Opportunity

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement annual budgets and monthly forecasts to ensure the company's financial stability and growth.
  2. Provide management accounting and P&L reporting for multiple trading companies, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
  3. Oversee the annual statutory accounting process, liaising with external accountants and auditors to ensure compliance.
  4. Cashflow forecasting and cash management to optimize financial performance.
  5. Prepare ad-hoc financial reports, analysis, and project accounting to inform business decisions.
  6. Identify and implement improvements in finance processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  7. Manage payroll and pensions, review VAT returns, and oversee ONS stat returns.
  8. Personal tax duties (desirable but not essential).
  9. Lead a team of two finance staff responsible for invoicing, bank reconciliations, and month-end duties.
  10. Reconcile intercompany accounts.
  11. Utilize XERO accounting software and MS Excel to drive financial performance.
Person Specification:
  1. Proven experience in a similar senior finance role, preferably in SME, start-up, or portfolio-type businesses.
  2. Confident communicator with excellent business partnering skills, able to work with diverse stakeholders.
  3. 'Qualified by experience' or fully CCAB qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA).
  4. Strong management and financial accounting skills, with a focus on automation and process improvement.
  5. Advanced XERO user highly desirable.
  6. Driving license essential due to the rural location.
Salary and Benefits:
  1. Salary range £45,000 - £60,000 DOE.
  2. People's Pension Scheme with 3% employer contribution.
  3. 37.5 hours per week, with consideration for reduced hours or flexibility in start/finish times.
  4. Office-based with some flexibility.
