Job Title: Financial Controller

Our client, a rapidly expanding private equity group business, is seeking a talented Financial Controller to join their head office Finance team based in Carlisle. As a key member of the Finance team, you will be responsible for leading the group's financial reporting, management accounting, and regulatory & compliance obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports for the Board and Senior Management team, with variance analysis and insight into performance and future impact.
  • Review and guidance to the finance team during the month-end process and review of key reconciliations and processes performed by the team.
  • Responsibility for delivering the year-end audit process.
  • Working with tax advisors and auditors.
  • Responsibility for ensuring the Group's VAT returns and any other statutory returns required of the group as necessary.
  • Cashflow management, working alongside the CFO in management of the Group's short and long term working capital processes.
  • Direct management of 2 x Management Accountants and 1 x Accounts Payable Assistant.
  • Contribute to future projects including the scoping and delivery of a new ERP/Finance system within the next 12 months.
Requirements:
  • ACA or ACCA qualification with 5+ years post-qualification experience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of technical accounting.
  • IT literate with strong Microsoft Excel skills and willingness to develop these skills further.

  • Salary dependent on experience and/or qualifications.
  • Full-time permanent role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9 - 5pm, option to work 1 day per week from home.
